In the late 80s my parents took me to church here when I was known by a different name. Interesting and thorough theological Sunday school teachers and talented choir director. But the other children repeatedly bullied and targeted/shamed me for being different. Not very Christ like. I left the ELCA church and joined a different denomination. Maybe after 27 years they have improved.
